Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy was last updated: February 7, 2022.

Overview

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from fenderfits.com (the “Site”).

Personal Information We Collect

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

  • "Cookies" are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
  • "Log files" track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • "Web beacons," "tags," and "pixels" are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

Additionally when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers, PayPal account name, etc.), email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as "Order Information."

When we talk about "Personal Information" in this Privacy Policy, we are talking about both Device Information and Order Information.

How We Use Your Personal Information

We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use this Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;
  • Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud; and
  • When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.

We use the Device Information that we collect (in particular, your IP address) to help us screen for potential risk and fraud, and more generally to improve and optimize our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).

Sharing Your Personal Information

We share your Personal Information with third parties to help us use your Personal Information, as described above. For example, we use Wordpress and Woocommerce from Automattic to power our website and online store. We also make use of Automattic's integrations with payment gateways, shipping and tax services to help us fulfill customer orders, and we use the Akismet anti-spam service on our contact forms. You can learn more about Automattic's software here: https://automattic.com/, https://woocommerce.com/document/privacy-payments/https://akismet.com/

When you submit an online form from our site we will receive an email and store your device's IP address, a timestamp, your name, your email address, your message and any other information you provide. That same information may be sent to Automattic's Aksimet anti-spam service for analysis but is not stored by them.

We use Google reCaptcha anti-spam service on our contact forms. We use Google Maps to display our street address location and to help customers find us. We use Google fonts to display text on our site in a variety of styles.

Our website's integration with Google Analytics sends page view events, video play events, shopping cart additions and removals, product listing views and clicks, product detail views, and purchase information to Google for storage and analysis.  We use this information to help us understand how our customers use the Site -- you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/. You can also opt-out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Payments, Shipping and Tax

For payments with PayPal or Stripe we use the purchase total, currency and billing information. For taxes we use the value of goods in the cart, value of shipping and destination address. For shipping rates we use the destination address, purchased product IDs, dimensions, weight, and quantities. For shipping labels we use your name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products.

For payments, we send the purchase total, currency and customer’s billing information to the respective payment processor. Please see Stripe's Privacy Policy (https://stripe.com/privacy/) and PayPal’s Privacy Policy (https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full) for more details.

When paying with PayPal the actual payment processing is handled by PayPal and the data involved includes Transaction amount, transaction currency code, product title, product price, product ID, order quantity, PayPal payer ID, and PayPal transaction ID. Because payments are processed by PayPal, we recommend reviewing PayPal's Privacy Policy: https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full

For automated taxes we send the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and the destination address to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy (https://www.taxjar.com/privacy-policy/) for details about how they handle this information.

For shipping rates we send the destination ZIP/postal code and purchased product dimensions, weight and quantities to the carrier directly or via EasyPost (https://www.easypost.com/), depending on the service used. For shipping labels we send the customer’s name, address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products to EasyPost. We also store the purchased shipping labels on our server to make it easy to reprint them and handle support requests.

Legal

Finally, we may also share your Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful request for information we receive, or to otherwise protect our rights.

Behavioural Advertising

As described above, we may use your Personal Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe may be of interest to you. For more information about how targeted advertising works, you can visit the Network Advertising Initiative’s (“NAI”) educational page at http://www.networkadvertising.org/understanding-online-advertising/how-does-it-work.

However, you can set most browsers to remove or reject browser cookies before using our website, with the drawback that certain features of our website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
